Ya know - I love movies so much that I actually DVR movie trailer shows. I get excited watching these 2 minute teasers cos they're an artwork all on their own, especially watching them on HD. Except for The Ultimate Trailer Show. This would actually be considered as a good program if the freaking host would just go away.
Robert Wilonsky is a tool. The guy is so pleased with the sound of his voice and amused by his own smarmy comments (that nobody would really think is funny) that he just comes off smug. He's suppose to be a "pop culture" columnist for the Dallas Observer among other things. So, sometimes writers think that what they do on print translates well in person, and often times that's completely wrong. A great wry sense of humor doesn't alienate people in written form but if you add a pleased-with-myself tone of voice and a I'm-smarter-than-everyone facial expression, you just come off as a dickhead.
Thank goodness there's still Nothing But Trailers for me to watch. I wonder if Wilonsky will honor my requests (since he says he always gives the show's fans what they ask for) if I beg him to leave. Oh well - I've wasted enough time on this already so I won't even bother to send a note. I'll just have to block his show from the DVR.
