I finally took off from work for a much needed R&R. I didn't even know how excited I was to be taking time off until last Wednesday. I was actually giddy with joy to be completely free. So - what did I do my first day off? I caught up with my reading list, of course.
I was starting to feel really frustrated because I didn't think I could make my deadline. I gave up on reading Happiness... not because it's not a good book but because it's more of a textbook. I'm still reading it but I am adding this to my list of research books instead (which I have a stack of right next to my bed). I finished reading Queen of Babble and Special Topics in Calamity Physics. Both good books although very different from each other.
I'm now trying to finish The Devil in the White City.... After this, I can hopefully start on my Stephen King Dark Tower series. Woohoo!
I'm out of town this week and am planning to visit my sister this weekend. However, I don't think it's a good idea for me to drive from LA to Central California. I would have to pass through three burning areas in Los Angeles County. Don't you hate it when natural disasters get in the way of your fun?
If I'm stuck home this weekend, I am resolved to catching up on some of the movies that I really want to see. More on where I am sitting right now while I'm typing this later. I have to get ready to make Tofu in Curry and Coconut Milk, which I've been looking forward to all week. Talk with you later!
