I’ve just finished reading The Last Van Gogh by Alyson Richman. It’s supposed to be “both a love story and a meticulously researched historical novel.” Well, it’s worth reading. Even if you don’t believe in the historical context, the story is written well and it gives Vincent's life another romantic angle.
Reading this book got me all obsessed with Van Gogh again so I’ve spent all morning looking for the images mentioned in the book. The book takes place in Auvers-sur-Oise where Van Gogh spent his last 70 days. During the period of May to July 1890 in Auvers, he generated over 70 pieces of art, including some of his most admired ones. Of course I’m not going to post all 70 images here but here are the top 6 mentioned in the book. Enjoy.
